Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Unprompted is designed around transparency. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what control you have over your information.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when creating your account through our authentication provider (Clerk), including your email address and username. When you create posts and replies, we store the content you write. During composition, we collect behavioral telemetry data as described below.

How We Use Your Information

Your account information is used for authentication and to display your profile to other users. Composition telemetry is used to compute trust scores that indicate whether content was composed natively on the platform. Your posts and replies are displayed within the Spaces and feeds you participate in.

Composition Telemetry

We record behavioral signals during writing to verify natural human composition. The specific signals collected are: total keystroke count, composition duration (time spent writing), paste attempt count, edit and delete patterns, inter-key timing intervals (the time between consecutive keystrokes during composition), and cadence features derived from those intervals (average interval, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, and burst ratio). We do NOT record the content of individual keystrokes, what characters you type, or any data outside the editor. From the raw timing data, we compute four summary statistics (average interval, variation, and typing pattern metrics) that are stored alongside each post. The raw timing intervals are not persisted. These signals collectively contribute to a trust score that indicates natural human composition patterns, which is visible to other users as part of the platform’s transparency model.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Trust scores and composition metadata (such as composition duration and paste attempt count) are visible to other users as part of the platform’s transparency model. Your email address is never displayed publicly. We may share data with service providers necessary to operate the platform (authentication, hosting, database).

Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account remains active. Composition telemetry data is retained alongside the posts it is associated with. If you delete a post, the associated telemetry data is also removed. Account deletion removes your personal information from our systems.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. You may request an export of your personal data. You may update your profile information through your account settings. We will respond to data requests within a reasonable timeframe.

Contact

For privacy concerns, questions about data handling, or to exercise your data rights, reach out through the platform. We are committed to transparency about how your data is used and protected.

This privacy policy may be updated periodically. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform.
